 I'm back.

It was 2021 when I last posted and unfortunately, still have Celiac Disease.

For those of us that have to, or choose to, live a GF lifestyle, we all find great joy in finding a new place that offers GF food. Even better when it is 100% GF. And when the food tastes awesome, well, you get where I am going.

So I was driving through Solana Beach the other day and saw a sign that I had not seen before - The Coop.



I got home and checked it out and found out that it was 100% GF. I grabbed my wife and we headed there for lunch. The menu was pretty extensive.




I got the turkey sandwich, and a pizza, and a cookie, and a cinnamon roll. I had worked up an appetite after a long hike (and I didn't finish it all, but tasted everything).


The sandwich and bread was incredible. The pizza was like a personal deep dish with a light fluffy crust, the chocolate chip cookie soft and with rich chips and the cinnamon roll was out of this world. Check the reviews and everyone raves about the cinnamon rolls.

In a week I visited three times and I have still not been able to sample everything but everything I have tried was delicious.


I'll try to add some more posts in the future. After seeing their wall with GF resources I thought I would pin a card with this blog and it doing so it gave me a kick in the rear to log back in and create a post.

Pizza. One of the things we GF folk miss is pizza, grabbing a slice, ordering a pie, delivery pizza at home. It has been two years since the GF Food Expo in San Diego where I met the owner of the two local  Mountain Mike's Pizza.   He told me a story about his daughter, who has to be GF, and how his restaurants offer safe GF Pizza.  I kept thinking I would stop in - its been two years.  Sam Golding owns the shop in Clairemont Mesa and I believe another in San Carlos. Ghostfish Gluten Free Beer

I noticed that I have been slacking on the blog updates.  I do have some recipes to add and a bunch of new GF products that I have found.  But, one of the best new additions I have found was another dedicated GF Brewery out of the incredible Pacific Northwest.  Home to beautiful mountains, rivers, steelhead, salmon and GF Beer.  My other favorite GF beer is just south of these guys in Portland, Oregon - Groundbreaker Brewing  (The brew pub is also a block away from my favorite GF Bakery - New Cascadia Traditional. I found out about  Ghostfish Brewing  after hearing about all of the medals they won at the 2015 Beer events.  They are another dedicated GF Brewer located in Seattle, Washington.  Three guys making great GF beer. Gluten Free Lipstick?

Yes, Lipstick.  No, I do not wear women's makeup, but my wife does.  In a way to prevent me from getting contaminated I looked into Gluten Free lipstick to match some of her colors for stocking stuffers. Well, not that easy.  I first looked on websites - not that great.  I emailed some more companies and the responses were all over the board. This is what I can summarize for you. Dior give the okay that none of their lipsticks contain gluten and are not produced on lines that contain gluten. Estee Lauder okay except signature Hydra Lustre which has wheat. The Bobbi Brown rep of Estee was extremely helpful and responsive.  This is what she sent Lip Color - Ingredients derived from Soy and Corn.
